The two Beacon Chain finality issues that occurred in 24 hours caused the network to halt finalizing blocks for more than an hour. This meant that transactions could not be confirmed and the network was not able to process new blocks.
The patches that have been released for the Prysm Labs and Teku clients are designed to address the underlying issues that caused the Beacon Chain finality issues. The patches have been tested and are now available for download.
