Circle Unveils Programmable Wallets Beta, Empowering Web3 Developers for Seamless Wallet Integration
Circle has introduced its Programmable Wallets public beta, catering to Web3 developers on platforms like Avalanche, Ethereum, and Polygon. The new offering includes APIs that developers can integrate into their apps for faster and easier wallet creation, streamlining processes and enhancing user experiences. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire emphasized this move as a step toward advancing digital asset adoption and public blockchain-based payments. The company had earlier launched its Ethereum-Avalanche cross-chain transfer protocol (CCTP) to enhance USDC transfers. Programmable Wallets employ multi-party computation (MPC) technology for enhanced security and plans to expand to other chains later in 2023.
Singapore's MAS Commits $112 Million to Boost Web3 and Fintech Innovation
Singapore's central bank, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), is dedicating $112 million to support fintech solutions like Web3 through its renewed Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) scheme. The funds will be distributed over three years, focusing on fostering innovation by backing projects using advanced technologies. This initiative includes tracks for Enhanced Centre of Excellence, Environmental, Social and Governance fintech, and Innovation Acceleration, which covers Web3. MAS emphasizes collaboration with industry players to promote innovative fintech solutions emerging from technologies like Web3, while also aiding the development of fintech talent within Singapore.
